What’s Coming for D&D in 2025: A Look at the New Releases Worth Rolling For

Right then, gather ’round the hearth and top off that tankard—because if you thought the good folks behind Dungeons & Dragons were resting on their laurels, you’re in for a surprise bigger than a gelatinous cube in a broom closet. Wizards of the Coast has been busy, and 2025 is shaping up to be a banner year for adventurers, lore-lovers, and dice-gremlins alike.

Here’s the rundown of everything headed our way for the rest of this year, and why you just might want to save some gold for the new loot. And between you and me? They’re already sharpening their blades for a full schedule in 2026…

Monster Manual (2025 Edition) – February 18

Already in the wild, this new Monster Manual is a true beast.
We’re talking 500+ stat blocks, improved formatting, and a slew of terrifying new creatures, all aimed at making your battles more exciting and your players more nervous. This isn’t just a reprint—it’s a full overhaul for the new edition. Good luck to the party that thinks they’ve “seen it all.”

Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen – May 21 (Re-release)

The classic return of the Dragonlance saga gets an updated hardcover with 2025 formatting polish.
If you missed it the first time, now’s your chance to dive into the War of the Lance and command dragonriders like a boss. Plus, it’s compatible with the Warriors of Krynn board game if you’re the type who likes battle maps with your story arcs.

Dragon Delves – July 16

This one’s for all you dungeon-delvers who believe in traps, treasure, and total party wipeouts.
Dragon Delves is packed with dungeon-only adventures—everything from old-school crypt crawls to modern, cinematic map design. Great for one-shots, level fillers, or just punishing your players because they forgot to check for traps again.

Eberron: The Last War – August 20

We’re going back to war-torn Khorvaire with this major Eberron expansion.
It digs deeper into the Last War, introduces new faction mechanics, and expands on airships, artificers, and intrigue galore. Perfect if your group leans toward noir-fantasy, sky piracy, or lightning rail heists at high speed.

Starter Set: Heroes of the Borderlands – September 17

A brand-new entry point for fresh heroes.
This isn’t just a rehash—it’s a new level 1–6 campaign with pregens, a simplified rulebook, and everything you need to bring new players into the hobby. If you’ve ever had friends ask how to get started… this box is your new best friend.

Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide & Adventure – November 12

The Realms are getting a double feature, and I couldn’t be more excited.
The Player’s Guide brings expanded lore, character options, and setting tools for Faerûn-based campaigns, while the Adventure Guide delivers a full playable experience dripping with iconic locations, familiar threats, and nostalgic nods for longtime fans.

Already Looking Ahead to 2026

And just so you know—you heard it from me first—Wizards is already laying groundwork for 2026. While they haven’t spilled all the beans, whispers of Planeswalker tie-ins, high-level play expansions, and more Forgotten Realms deep dives are floating through the ether like a Spectator at a tea party.

So if you’ve got shelf space left (and I know you’re lying if you say you don’t), keep your eyes on these release dates and your coin pouch close. The future of D&D is looking mighty bright—and just a little bit dangerous.

See you at the table.
